Bangers and Back Bacon from Blighty

There may not be a resistant pool in a population heavily inbred like farm animals.

Sadly, we’ll never know.

I wonder if you would show remorse if it were demonstrated that you brought an infection in, or remain defiant regardless?

All the more reason to have foreigners subject to worming before they travel. It could be infected food you ate before travelling then pooped out once you arrive in the country?

All the more reason to have everyone subject to worming before they travel.

My phrase applied in either direction but yours reads better :slightly_smiling_face:

And get everyone chipped as well

Pre brexit it wasn’t a problem. The UK food industry has not since dropped to 3rd world standards.

Genuine question; if France is quite dull for you why do you live here?

So foodstuffs coming in freely from Eastern Europe doesn’t concern at all them?

Cost to return permanently

I personally think that there is no need to bring any foodstuffs back from UK (apart from PG Tips).

Sausages, I guess depending on where in France you live are amazing @DrMarkH but I do miss the 99% sawdust and rusk English ones sometimes). Nostalgia. I don’t miss them at all actually and don’t eat much processed meat since going on a sausage making course. This course put me off sausages big time after seeing what you need to add into the mix so as to not kill the person eating the crapola.

English back bacon. No comment. Eating factory farmed pigs is a more than a bit wrong.

Pork Pies. Loved them and when M&S were trading in Brussel and The Hague they were a dirty secret treat…but that was perhaps 10 years back and I prefer a nice fougasse if I’m in the mood.

Smuggling?..yes I did it big time when working in Muslim SE Asian places and mostly bacon and I’m sure that I did not cause any outbreaks but a good point about worming tabs.

Any comments on the best sausage?

I’m sure I’ve seen that in our local HyperU and eLeclerc. I’ve even seen Yorkshire Tea (leaf tea) in HyperU. In fact, I get the Yorkshire Tea for my neighbour who doesn’t shop there. :pink_heart:

Ooooo…lucky you!..we live in Frenchie Frenchie land and zero Englishers here, a few Belgies but that’s all so no decent builders tea but hey ho and when folk come to stay, we tend to ask for proper Dutch Mayonnaise as a gift and I can forget about the tea.

French mayonnaise…never. Helmand mayo is not permitted to be called mayonnaise in NL.

Pre-brexit it was the same problem but free movement of goods over-ruled obvious good sense. BSE has never been forgotten.

That is so sad to end up somewhere you don’t want to be. No wonder you sound a bit bitter. Can you really not find a way to move back to the UK, or somewhere you would find more interesting even if it means a big downsizing? Things are only likely to get more difficult as you age.

Make your own. A gazillion times better. Re Helmand mayo, I’m not sure they export much from Afghanistan.
