Beware motorway toll fines

Which is why I think, I will never use a peage again, there is no way I would remember to pay. When I was running frequently with the dogs I always avoided peages as a matter of course with 2 exceptions. Between Salbris and Artenay to avoid Orleans and latterly when I had scaled down to shorter and less frequent journeys, if I was asked to go too far to accomplish that without them. If I ever do a dog journey again it will have to be even shorter now.

Update. Hubby hadn’t told me we’d got a letter from them today while I was at work. It said that we needed to pay an extra 10e if we paid by the 30/01 or 90e after that. It did mention something about being first time offenders and indeed by paying immediately we got no fine at all! Excellent!

My thoughts too but it worked out well!

Yes the Dartford Crossing Mob have a similar relaxed attitude to first offenders, which is sensible of them.

UK car park operators could learn a thing or two from them about not pissing people off with fines for genuine mistakes, or where signage is unclear or missing.

My point exactly, it happens, and very very frequently!
Dartford crossing makes more than £4 million each year in forgotten tickets.

I messed up in summer 2023, again tired and visiting son in Holland after using that on the way to the ferry. I went on to pay after the 48 hour limit and just paid the fee not a fine.

They are making so much cash, they can do what they like, easy money.

I think you are correct as I have used the " libre flux " and my tag beeps and I have used it in 2 different vehicles and have never gotten a bill but paid as normal via direct debit connected to my tag.

Indeed they are. They share a mission statement with the daily fail “never let the truth get in the way of a good story”.

The latest scare is: will France introduce 100% tax on non EU buyers second homes.
