Boris Johnson - liar, fraud and just plain stupid

She’s, ah, not been arround much recently. As you say speculation is rife.

I saw one of the usual right wing mouthpieces saying it was a bunch of lefties booing him… because yeah, liberal lefties are known for their staunch support of the monarchy… unless they’re suggesting they braved the crowds to stand there just to wait for Boris to boo him :joy:

Yes that’s what surprised me. The television viewing figures were way down on royal events a few years ago, indicating a lack of public interest - so surely its only the ultra-committed royalists - not to say jingoists - that would stand out in the street to see not-the-queen going into a church? If even these are moved to boo Johnson he’s probably in big trouble!

OH of the view we could be looking at a vote of no confidence as early as middle of this week. We’ll see. Now that the Platinum jubilee is out the way, just maybe?

I was thinking about starting a new topic of the possibility of Boris might facing a vote of confidence next week but the murmurs that there are already to many political threads i have thought better of it.
So will the next few days see his demise?
Certainly the feeling of those outside the Queens Thanksgiving service on Saturday would like to think so.
Edit: you beat me to it Sue

Interestingly, I think the title to this thread is wrong. I do not think he is plain stupid. He is very wily.
Also, I think he’s probably done great things for ensuring that the monarchy remains for a few more generations - imagine him (or anyone else like him) as president. :scream:

Good idea Sue the thread title could just be shortened to end at liar, fraud

As I said in the other thread that sprouted up on this - he’ll probably win by a squeek, but with seriously damaged authority.

The problem then, is that the Tories don’t have many plausible candidates to replace him.

It seems Johnson might even have lied about his Covid (as I recal there was much speculation at the time).

I ma sure that he convinces himself that everything he says is true, whether or not it really is.

It seemed obvious at the time that there had been a whole load of dramatic tarting-up of his case in order to twang the nation’s heartstrings. Miraculous recovery and all. Ghastly slimeball how much lower can he stoop.

He seems a pretty decent chap really if you forget all of this and his running (or not) of the country.

And just a day later,

It seems he has some small amount of ethics left, his boss, however,…

Biggest loss in a by-election ever, Oliver Dowden resignation so it’s a happy day for many.
Sir Roger Gale just said on BBC Today ’ We’ve got a number of potential very good leaders in the Conservative Party. We’re almost spoilt for choice’. :joy:
