This “Boris story” doing the rounds - if true suggests that he should have gone for a career as a stand up comedian, sounds like he’s pretty good at that.
I am not sure whether Boris Johnson knows the answer himself.
I just made a remark on a friends FB post mentioning BoJo being an idiot & clearly models himself on Fozzie Bear, (muppet fame), my post’s just been blocked & a ‘red warning’ came up LOL

Anyone who thinks Boris Johnson is genuinely as stupid and bungling as he makes out is very silly.

Paul - your chart shows the real reason for Boris’s rise. He is regarded as the man most likely to return the Tory party to power in an election. And that’s all.
I don’t think he is stupid, he seems to have a remarkably nimble and creative intelligence. But his body language and general cordination suggests that he is very ill-at-ease in public. He bungles almost incessantly IMO.
He rushes about, his gestures are clumsy and over-emphatic, he rarely looks comfortable and relaxed, at times shrinking his head down between hunched shoulder when challenged by a question.
His appearance is almost always dishevelled, his clothes do not hang well on his frame, his shirt often untucked at the waistline, his shoes unpolished. His teeth suggest he is unacquainted with a toothbrush.
He often drops things or handles them clumsily, his compulsive hair-ruffling is a displacement activity intended to distract attention from his features (his face and from eye contact, unless he initiated it).
His semaphore-type arm gestures and stabbing/thrusting gestures are also distractors. It suggest that he thinks his appearance is unattractive to others.
I think his advisors recognise these negative give-aways which are quickly picked up by observers, which is why he is rushed quickly from one photo-op to another. His chronic discomfiture and gaucherie are likely to arouse protective motherly instincts in many women, and embarrassment in many men, which they are unlikely or unwilling to disclose to others. The word “charisma” offers a get-out for some who, for whatever reason, suits their short-term political convenience.
The man is the emperor with no clothes.

I think the Tories are finished for a generation at least, maybe longer.

I think it is an act that he has been doing for a very long time and it is his stock-in-trade. I don’t think we need to shed many tears over his self-image. His coordination was good enough for the wall game and coathanger fencing.

You’d need to ask the women who are attracted to him about his sex-appeal. One can only guess. Some women seem to be drawn to grotesques.
