I’m researching home fibre options. It appears that our choices are Free, Sosh, Bouyges and Orange.
If I remember correctly, Orange has a bad reputation. Our experience (in rented accommodation) with Bouyges was good, so I’m tempted by them.
Unless Free or Sosh is better.
Any opinions?
I suspect each of them has their detractors and horror stories and, in reality, they’re much of a muchness. I use Free in Paris and Sosh in La Vienne and they’ve both been fine but I’m sure others will tell you to run a mile.

I take Orange (actually Lebara) as it’s the only reliable network remaining here which is the case in a lot of places.
Other networks have come and gone but till their signal disappeared Bouygues was excellent with a relatively high quaity of customer support. I would choose them if their signal was still here.
Sosh has a lot of fans and I was happy with them for approaching 3 years but they are not above some tricks. Having had lines with both Sosh and Orange concurrently at more than one different period it seemed the phone with the Sosh SIM was always exactly 1 bar signal strength less than the Orange phone (even when I swapped the SIMs over). Lebara, weirdly, surprisingly as it is an MVNO, so far has not shown this effect.
Free - not with a bargepole. 2 extreme instances of dishonesty when suddenly their signal vastly deteriorated - pretty much disappeared - and they knew why but refused to say and kept taking the money over months despite my desperate appeals for help and to escalate. (I was by then down to only 1 line and it was Free.)
I eventually found out myself by googling what had caused the problem and that it had happened at the start of my problems and sent correct termination letter registered post to Free. They signed for it then continued debiting my bank account for 3 further months till I complained twice They admitted they’d had the letter 3 months previous but refused to refund the extra months’ money they’d taken.
Cashback sites (eg widilo, igraal) and comparison sites good for phone deals
