Bregret: the EU perspective

I just think that it is ridiculous to think that EU money would continue to pour in .

sadly, won’t run on my FF instance in France…

Perhaps you can add some context to you post to outline what the video is about?

Just finished watching the second series of Clarkson’s Farm. It is a thoroughly enjoyable two series, even if you don’t like JC but it does show what goes on in british (and european) farming regarding the financial side of things. JC battling against the local NIMBYS whilst trying to support ailing local farmers and producers really made me angry where the local planning/council are concerned, they really have it in for him even though he is running a legit business. The other farmers and producers were bemoaning about how they no longer get the subsidies from the EU that keep them going but I do wonder how many voted out but really now find they were doublecrossed by not getting any info or being misled by that group of unspeakable ar**holes that reared their ugly heads for leaving. The red tape in farming is unfathomable too.

That’s a bit weird, seeing as you’re in France and it’s a French production. Strangely, it works on my tablet which is connected to my UK presence VPN. As it’s a YouTube video, it should really play anywhere shouldn’t it ?

I’ve found that French YT content may be blocked in France but available in the UK (and equally, French broadcast material blocked in UK but available, obviously, in France).

I’m surprised it doesn’t work if it’s on youtube.
If not, your other option is to download “6play”, then you can definitely see it (and many other passed episodes of “enquete exclusive”).

You do need to live in the area to understand why there are NIMBYs. Access leading to his farm are narrow, and dangerous, country roads that are totally congested with mile long queues of his fans preventing us access to our houses… Just thought it worth a mention

You are totally correct re farming though. What a mess. However, you should not defend them by saying they might have been doublecrossed or given wrong information! Farmers are businessmen and had all the facts before them the same as you and I had. I can name at least three large farmers, neighbours of JC, who voted out - the largest one being the owner of a large earth moving equipment manufacturer - with strong convictions of their own why brexshit was the way to go. Whilst before I had sympathy in general for the plight of farmers, I have absolutely none at all now.

I have the same error message.

For anyone in France without a VPN here’s the link to the YouTube video:

https:// youtu.be/jqMTHWJJRXI

If you paste this into a site that allows you to download YouTube videos which is based outside France then you can bypass their geolocation restrictions.

(I had to put a space in the URL above to avoid the video being embedded but remove it when pasting it into any YT downloader site)

Edit: think the site I originally suggested is serving up some fishy spam sites so have removed it

I’ll pass on it then.

Does this work?

Edit: removed

The thing is Adam, the local council planning dept wouldn’t even consider trying to sort out the traffic problem which yes, looked narrow and dangerous but JC could have come up with a solution if he had been allowed to I think. I had no brexit information other than reading the UK papers online, been here 32 years so not au fait with the UK any longer. I still reckon farmers were hoodwinked to be honest, many don’t have the time to study government information if they are working all hours, then sleeping but as you say, a lot thought they were going to be better off - how wrong they are now! I’m glad he got his resto and its not interfering with anyone as parking is off road and no cars are driving to it.

I live within 30 miles of Clarksons farm, and can completely imagine he’s a nightmare for his community, even though I enjoyed the first series. He really doesn’t come across as someone who will work with his local council to obtain a goal, rather would do whatever the hell he wants and then kick & scream because he broke planning regs, rather than getting permission first.

it leads me to a software download platform - not sure I want to go down that route tbh.

Meh, I think I’ll just remove it then.

I used a VPN on Opera and can see it with no problem.

Is the situation so much different from the one in France ? Budget shortage, unsufficient number of doctors, population getting older… we share all this.

As I said, best option is to download “6play”, no problem then and much more to see too
