We are looking at installing broadband at our property in Pas Des Calais.
We believe we have access to fibre which is great news.
Does anyone have any preferences to different providers etc or aware of any that offer good deals for second home owners whom won’t be at their property very often, i.e.nce a month etc.
https://www.monpetitforfait.com/ is a good comparison website for mobile and fibre contracts, I would think though that most fibre contracts will be for a years commitment minimum.
If you’re only visiting for a few days a month why do you need a French SIM or fixed line BBand?
To give comparable "Home Broadband experience we use a 4G router + UK SIM with EU roaming.
It has 12v power so can work from the car or can use a normal home power socket with its standard mains adaptor.
Argos currently sell a 120GB SIM with a 12 month life for a one off cost of £55
The option of fixed line Fibre is easy to find and can cost under 18€/mth for year 1 (with Bouygues). As with all networks, the price then shoots up -to 32€/month
Try going to selectra.fr they are a comparison site - speak English too if you need - and I found them incredibly helpful today when I had a problem with SFR ordering a 4G box for internet
Without any doubt on my side, go for Elon Musk’s STARLINK. It costs 40 Euros per month and delivers speeds of 218MPS. I live in an ancient stone house which breaks down into 3 houses, kitchens etc. Starlink has enough power to satisfy up to 20 users at once and 4 tv sets (I have not tested with more people). Orange, Bouyges , Free are all useless by comparison. The only thing is a 450 Euro set up charge for the equipment.
