Can I get an amateur radio license in France

Hello, I’m currently active as an amateur radio operator here in the states. What will be required to obtain a license in France. I’m sure that I will have to be fluent in French to take the exam. Is there any hope that I would be able to simply transfer my current license which I originally obtained in 1956? Thanks, Jim
