Cancelling a contract

Yesterday I made a mistake.

I received an email which appeared to be offering me a discount on an item I had in my online basket with DARTY. I filled in the form with my personal and bank details and sent it off online to find I had unwittingly (and rather stupidly) signed up to a sort of loyal scheme where I pay a monthly subscription in return for discount on future orders. This scheme is run by a third party company. I don’t want this.

I immediately sent an email (same day) to the customer services department of this third party company explaining that I had made a mistake. I have received an automated reply saying my enquiry will be dealt with within 5 working days.

While I await the outcome, I think I’d ask here on SF what are my rights in a situation like this?

Google tells me this:

In France, consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from most online or distance contracts, starting the day after receiving goods or the contract’s conclusion for services. You don’t need to give a reason for the withdrawal,
