Please what does tier payant mean. I am only being reimbursed 3 euros for my doc visits which are unfortunately numerous. Just got onto it this am when checking bank statement. Going back, it has been same since husband died. My Amelie gives reimbursement as under tier payant No idea what’s going on. Seems to only apply when I pay on my bank card at doc or write a cheque ie for my glasses. No reimbursement from CAPAM or mutuelle for them at all. I have been v remiss on keeping on top of everything but need to get this sorted. Any help, suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Trying to get appointment but it’s Wed isn’t it!
Have you checked your Amelie site? Do you have a medicine traitant (GP) declared?
If not, I can’t remember who does this - I think it maybe your doctor who has to declare this for you. No doubt someone else will know for sure.
Yes have checked my Amelie and my medecin traitant is in there together with my other info. It’s all v peculiar really everything else ie pharmacy , coloscopy, scans etc comp, etely ok. Seems to be just when I pay cheque or bank card as I do at GP that this is happening
What it means is that Ameli (ie the CPAm/&Seçu) pay the professional directly. So you don’t have to advance the money and get a percentage back.
If you look at your bank statements, or the payment page on Ameli, it should be clear that you aren’t actually paying out the full amount, just the part for the patient/mutuelle.
Your doc charges €30 and with tier payant €19 will be paid to them directly (€21-€2). The remaining amount is for you or your mutuelle so you should only have €9 on your bank card each visit. If you have the full €30 on your card then something’s odd.
Yes well something is not right because my last three visits i have had 30 euros taken off my bank card each time. Mutuelle reimbursed 9 so have no idea what is going on. Will hopefully find out
That’s strange… I only write a cheque for 9€ and hand it to our Doctor.
and, later, the Mutuelle reimburses me…
Surely you can see how much is to be taken from your Card before either swiping it (handsfree) or putting it into the machine and using the pin number.
Yes of course i can see what id being chargef on my card and it is 30 euros per visit. I get 9 back from mutuelle and only 3 from CAPAM. I only realised today when checking my statements and on going back this year it had been consistently the same. So have to go see someone at our CAPAM. Something not ok obvs
Have spent hours studying my Amelie dossier and everything becoming clearer now. Didn’t have to bother too much when hubby was here. Last reimbursement was negated by all the various forfeits hence only 3 euros reimbursement. Didn’t know about them! However should I be paying my doc the full 30 euros each visit and waiting for refund or ask him if I am tier payant or not. I have always, for 26 years paid fully each visit….cheque or Carte bancaire. Thanks for your help. Another learning curve
The question to ask is whether or not the doctor is part of the Tiers Payant system. Some doctors haven’t joined the scheme so you would have to pay the full €30 and wait for the refund.
Yes that is going to be my next question. Seems to me like he isn’t as I pay full charge each visit ie 30 euros Went to cabinet yesterday to ask receptionist if she could help but she just said to contact CAPAM However having spent hours reading up on the whole thing I know think I know what I’m talking about. I am 80 now and not sharp as a tack but getting to grips with a lot of stuff I didn’t have to when husband was alive! Thanks for reply Robert
And well done for doing so. From your posts seems like your tack is still pretty sharp.
You are welcome Meggie, and “Well done” for your perseverance to enable a better understanding of what is quite a complex subject. Keep up the good work.
This has always been my case, irrespective of the GP. Full upfront payment, reimbursement later by CPAM and Mutuelle (if any, depending on acts accomplished by the GP). I’ve never known it any different, and have been in the system 32 years.
But you presumably don’t have an ALD, or are in an income bracket supported by the Complémentaire Santé solidaire, or one of the other circumstances where tiers payent is activated? It is not available to everyone.
My guess is that she may well still be ayant droit, and linked to her husband’s account and ALD perhaps. So following his death this is now been changed.
Yes, the vast majority of the time I would agree with you entirely. However, every now and again one comes across a medical professional who, for one reason or another, isn’t in the system and therefore issues a ‘Feuille de Soins’ that has to be posted off to the CPAM office.
Having studied my Amelie for hours literally last night….till 2.30 am in fact. I have now got the full picture ……I think. All those little forfeits add up, plus only 70% back from CAPAM plus my 9 from mutuelle so sometimes all I will get will be a few euros. How ever it seems to me that my GP must not be in the tier payant system. I will find out. My husband didn’t have to pay anything for quite a while latterly as he was ALD so he would not have been keeping track of reimbursements particularly. Anyway it’s been educational and a big thank you to those who have helped
But are you eligible for it? Not everyone is, so you might have been piggy-backing on your husband’s eligibility.
Why would I not be eligible for it
It is for people who have low income, or have an ALD or a few other things that are exceptions that I can’t remember. Most people pay upfront and are reimbursed.
None of which apply to me so just think my GP is not ontjer payant system. Will be keeping an eye on it all mow though
