Carte vitale question

Hi All

Just had the letter from CPAM to obtain the carte vitale. I am still unable to register for an Ameli account, it is saying unable to register due to your circumstance at this time.

They have sent a printed form to attach a photo to and post, so I will do it that way.

They want a scan of my Identity document. Shall I send them a scan of the passport or my visa? I was going to send both but it states on the return envelope “ Envoyez uniquement les 2 documents demandés”

i.e. the completed form and only 1 identity document scan.

CPAM wanted both when I originally applied.

Paul

Your passport. A visa isn’t an identity document.

However they may well ask for it later :joy:

But I wonder why you can’t get the ameli account open? If they are preparing your carte vitale then you are registered.

A passport is an identity document. A visa is not.

Have you tried the usual - clearing the cache and trying different browsers? Sometimes that helps.

This is the message when I try to create account

Votre situation actuelle ne vous permet pas de créer immédiatement votre compte ameli.

Merci de bien vouloir :

I’m no expert, but I’ve not ever had any process go smoothly in 20 months here. My husband just spent three days trying to get into his ANTS account as he just passed his driving test…turns out he needed to make another account, couldn’t use the one that he had already made. Who knew? Anyway, good luck to you.

When we went through the system it was creaking.

We used the Englishpeaking helpline and they were very helpful. They told me that the computer system was frequently being restarted, and that the problem was at their end.

However, it seemed clear that they were trying to help, by having a postal system of application as well. We receined a letter similar to the one you describe, and a couple of days later our CVs.

If things don’t improve, you could try ringing the helpline.

Hi Paul.

We had exactly the same message. Even though we’d received the letter from our CPAM confirming my husband was now in the Sécu, we couldn’t create an Ameli account to get the attestation de droits.

I called our local CPAM and they gave me a code over the phone which we then used to create the account.

So just call your CPAM and they’ll probably give you a code.

You will eventually have 2 accounts, with separate passwords.

The Ameli account where you can find your attestation de droits and track refunds.

And an Espace santé where doctors post your medical records.

According to thegoodlifefrance.com:

09 74 75 36 46, Monday – Friday 9.00 – 18.00 (local call cost). 0033 974 75 36 46 (from other countries).

Me again: I remember having to call early - 9AM or not too much after that, sometimes they closed early. And I’m not sure that they’re there every day, either - I seem to recall that they were not, nor that they were available after noon.

Book an appointment with your nearest France Services. They can do things we can’t.

When we have trouble with French websites (quite frequently), we often find that changing to using Microsoft Edge as the browser will resolve the problem.

I renewed my CSS on Ameli last week, no problems at all and a new document available an hour later. Sometimes if you have left your SS number to come up automatically, it prefers you to re-do the numbers into the relevant box again

Hi Jane

Went to CPAM in Cahors today. Kind person there did it all for me. Luckily I had my E-mail on my phone so it was easy. Now I know how it’s done here OH may be easier hopefully. What a lovely day here it hit 20C and we ate outside. Thanks to you and everyone who relpied.

Well done @Paul_Creed

I went through this recently.

CPAM sent my social security number with a temporary letter to use. I couldn’t open the Ameli account with same message as you.

About 4 weeks later I get a request for ID proof photo and signature to be sent by post. Carte Vitale arrives about 4 weeks later. About two weeks later I could open the Ameli Account and get the phone app.
