I came across this very useful site for anyone about to start the process of obtaining a carte (titre) de séjour. It’s in respect of the Administration Numérique pour les Étrangers en France (ANEF). CdS are now generally applied for online, through ANEF’s portal. The site happens to be from the Vendée Prefecture but the information is of generic application.
This site contains numerous User Guides, some of them up to 70 pages (!), with step by step screenshots of each stage of the relevant CdS application. I was rather reassured, having reviewed the one that I will have to do in a couple of years time (assuming they don’t change it!) that contrary to initial feedback, you now upload individual documents one at a time eg a marriage certificate. The original design apparently required the entire stack of documents to be included in one single large pdf. They’ve also sensibly stopped asking for copies of the entire passport and only want the pages that actually show useful information eg entry stamps, name, marital status etc (on some non UK passports).
If anyone uses ANEF for their CdS it would of course be interesting to find out how user friendly they found it. I also can’t help wondering if WA CdS renewals might also use the ANEF approach.
