We have something like that. The bottom half is stainless so if anything gets to the bottom it is easy to remove (unlike plastic). She sits on the small pad in front and poops. There is very little litter tracked away.

I don’t see it recommended (and must confess to not having read the whole thread) but I can recommend this La Carbonite : une litière minérale pour chat très agglomérante – Litière Tranquille which we get from Leclerc, with the caveat that while it is easy to sift and never smells, it’s a bit “powdery” and won’t be at all great if you have lots of carpet or rugs. It’s not difficult to remove as such, but you get a sort of fine layer of clay on the floor if you’re not fairly diligent with a mop a couple of times a week. Otherwise it’s by far the best I’ve used.
