Ours took 5 years to want to sit on my lap (yet he would follow me around the house, and curl up next to me in bed). Presumably something in his chequered past, some of which we know: he’d had several homes prior to us, who adopted him at two-and-a-half.
I see those claws are firmly gripping onto something there. My jeans and t-shirts become dotted with loose threads of cotton, and my skin gets dotted with claw pinpoints. I ask my cats not to but they won’t listen.
She previously lived on the top floor of our building and would ride the lift up and down. Her elderly owner died, and Dora moved in with us six years ago.
She is happy to stay inside, and when it’s warm, hang out on our balcony. We do have to give her steroids every 3 days, and occasionally an appetite stimulant, but otherwise she is doing well.
