Ours went to the vet for the last time today. 21 years old (22 in September) she has been the other old lady in our lives.
I’m not upset, and it was certainly time, but she’s been around a long time now.
Condolences nonetheless
That’s a great age, @Ancient_Mariner. My lad is only 7, but I’ve (perhaps too often) thought of his last day.
I think it’s the duty we owe to the animals who share our lives: a kind death, as well as a good life, and to remember them.

Stunning.
This is Fluff, again, from a previous post ( somewhere above ) where I said I had no photos of her shaved – shaving was the only way to free her of impossible furry tangles. This retrieved photo shows the best effort by a vet. Other attempts over the years looked like awful amateur clumpy do-it-yourself jobs….!
Monty, the last of our feral cats to discover the benefits of a warm log fire ![]()
2/12 years old and still growing, built like a breeze block and his sister Chell who is just as big and has the biggest paws I have seen on a cat.
Ginger and his dad as well.
Little and large - Mickey our Norwegian monster and Bob - who ran into the house and refuses to leave…
Love the lynx ears.
he has been in a fight since and shredded the tip of one ear - hoping the fluff will grow back.
Worrying
