Hi, after years, we still do not quite understand CESU. The cleaning lady has worked part-time for several years and decided she wanted to try a new career, which I strongly support her for her courage. However, I can’t seem to find any information anywhere about the rules that you need to follow. To be honest, she’s never been an employee. She has many clients, but when I first moved here, she had me sign her up for CESU. We’ve never had a contract as she worked for the previous employers, and I agreed to pay her the same amount and gave her a little bit more. She now wants to work for or with her sister in a concierge service, so she’s starting work immediately, and I just don’t know what I need to declare with CESU. I don’t know what my responsibilities are, since she’ll already be working for or with her sister. Can anyone tell me the steps and what is needed, or include a link perhaps? Thank you in advance for any concrete information.
If you didn’t have a contract with her then you just stop paying and doing declarations. I wouldn’t try to do anything else!
We had a cleaner on a CESU contract and it has been an administrative nightmare to end the contract - including several visits to France Services who also struggled. She wanted us to do a rupture conventionnelle, but that proved so hard we ended up with a licencement. Still cost us an extra €40 to get rid of someone who had been off sick for last 12 months.
