I have recently been unable to watch channel 4 on my Firestick despite trying every location available on my VPN. I am not sure if anyone else has this problem but I will pass on the simple solution given to me by a friend.
Go into settings and change your time zone to BST. Mine was set to Central European Time. When I made the change, channel 4 started working again.
We’ve always had to change timezones for C4, so amazed you have escaped for so long.
I don’t watch it that much. I suspect the recent hour change had something to do with it. Why it worked before that is a mystery to me (as are many matters technological).
You were viewing through a rift in the space-time continuum. Simples.
