No point following me, I’m always lost
I didn’t say that Angela, and you know it. What I actually said was "If it were incognito I might tend to have sympathy with that sentiment "
Marmite? - I can take it or leave it.
To add my two (perhaps entirely unwanted) cents I don’t really understand the issues about this, which is not to say the issues are in any way not valid, rather just that as I said, I don’t quite get what they are. I don’t use Facebook or the like as I don’t want them tracking me all over the internet and keeping things compartmentalised online is difficult enough already without inviting zuckerberg in to rifle through my drawers , but I don’t see the harm in saying ‘I enjoy or learn from this person’s comments on here so I’ll get notified when they comment’. I guess it could be used for trolling purposes ‘I can’t stand this person so I’ll get notified whenever they comment and can then jump in and trash their views’ but given the combined age of the membership of this forum I’d like to think that was more a Reddit thing than a SF thing. Most of my comments are so dreary and dreadful you’d be a fool to follow me, but if any of you are a sucker for punishment I wouldn’t get all antsy you’re going to take the ‘follow’ too far and turn up next Tuesday with a telephoto lens outside my bathroom window, so follow away!
You got me thinking about the “if it ain’t broke” approach to technology, so I looked up sf from 10 years ago on the wayback machine!
Fait point.
@james Just to let you know I am at work all day and won’t be able to post so you can relax
