We are moving to a new property and the boundary is not fenced on one side. We have a dog so job number one is to fence the boundary. What is the cheapest, easiest fencing available? I could do the searching for hours on various websites but one of you guys will have done this so you are my phone a friend!!
The fence would need to be at least 1.5m high to keep dog in. The boundary is about 15-20m long. The rest of the boundaries are fenced with wire mesh type fencing and there is just a line of breeze blocks marking this boundary at present.
Thanks all!!
I bought rolls of fencing from our local agricultural merchant. It's made to keep chickens etc in. It's an orange cord mesh about 1m high with wires in it so it can be electrified. It comes complete with "built in" plastic posts so all one needs to do is unroll it & shove the posts into the ground. I think it was in 30m lengths. Not terribly cheap but can be easily moved to another location & should last for ever! Sorry I can't remember the name & after many years any ID it had has long gone!
It is cheaper at Brico Depot. Ours would get underneath so we put some wood along the bottom and attached the wire fence to it. It is not the strongest fence in the world but then it is cheap but it does the job.

I used the wooden poles and and a tension wire along the top and bottom and attached it just like Nick has said
I did this for our dog. Buy wooden 2 metre long fence poles from Bricomarche that you can bash into the ground with a sledge hammer. You need them every 2 metres. Then buy a roll of chain link fence - go to your local DIY shops and compare prices. I eventually bought mine at Briconaut. Then use large "staple" type nails to fasten the chain link to the posts. This is the simplest , cheapest method. However if you want a better quality fence you need to add 3 lengths of wire at top, middle and bottom of your fence posts and add tension devices at intervals to ensure the whole thing is taught and stronger. If you have a big german shepherd type dog you might need the latter.
simple wire net fencing with metal posts say every 5 meters plus 3 horizontal lengths of wire between the posts which will match? what you have already :-)
