Is that right even after it has passed through a heating system? And if it has, aren’t you best burnt as scalded? The water has to be heated somwehere, beit hot water tank or kettle.
Just a pre heat, you have heated a tank of water from the mains supply using a little on the hot water supply is not from the heating (assuming a wet radiator heating) side. Would be quicker and its just a top up in temperature and small additional electricity. It takes a bit less than raising cold water to boiling and it could have been heated from solar costing less. Same as a washing machine using solar heated water rather than cold water via another heating element inside the washing machine.

True but I chuck bicarb and the left over boiling water down the sink. Surely does some good!
