Christmas Books for Children

I was just wondering what books you were planning to buy for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews etc. Do you buy books that you enjoyed as a child and hope the magic rubs off? Do children still want annuals…do they still exist…am picturing “The X Factor Annual” , if there is such a thing… beurk…

My eldest is getting Manga - Japanese graphic novels. You have to be careful as some are too graphic - sex/violence. Also the latest Olympian book by Rick Riordan - about the Greek gods/demigods in a modern setting.

My middly has the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney all about pre-teen angst/school and peer problems/body image but all dealt with in a positive way.

The youngest have the Raymond Briggs series - Father Christmas,Father Christmas goes on Holiday and The Snowman.

My sister has sent them books too but we shall have to wait until Saturday to see what they are!!
