Has anyone ever had any dealings with Cleiss?
I wrote to the CLEISS, but in english, as advised by the English speaking helpline of the CPAM.
Jane, did you get anyone English speaking at the Cleiss (bear in mind that it is before 3.30 and they are already closed!)
Totally agree!!
Thanks, Jane.
I think I'll revisit some old ground and look at the new. There's enough folk out there getting paid to supposedly sort such problems - time they starting earning it!
If you are registered to vote in the UK you could always go to either your MEP or MP in your last constituency and ask them to take this up on your behalf.
I think that Solvit might be interested in your case, because it is effectively denying you freedom of movement within the EU.
In my view the CLEISS will not be very interested in taking up anything of behalf of any Brits, but it may be worth a try.
No, Jane, I haven't tried them yet.
I was hoping that someone who'd had experiences of them could provide details - although your experiences don't seem to have been good!
As I understand it, and I could be very wrong because it doesn't appear to be what happened in your case, but they would be more 'amenable' to getting the UK authorities to take responsibilities for the issues?
I think I mentioned it earlier or in another thread, that Solvit only deal with problems relative to your 'adopted' country. So, in my case Solvit are of no use, my problem is with the UK authorities. I would have thought that in this instance Cleiss would have been of more help to me? My medical insurance is the problem - although if you were aware of other threads my registration has only just gone through. My problems started in the UK and they won't accept responsibility for them. I'm trying to get the UK to smarten up, not France.
I can't quite comprehend the fact that there is a medical treatment not available in France that is available in the UK - I thought the French were much more up to speed on the medical side of things.
Yes, they refused me access to medical treatment in the UK, to which under EU Regulations I was allowed.
I took them to the European Commission as if I had gone through SOLVIT the decision would have applied to me personally, and because I was refused solely on the grounds that I was a British retiree within the French health system, it would affect all British OAP's living in France. No attempt was made to look at the health grounds for my claim for a form S2 to give me access to treatment in UK.
Although I personally received assurances that I could access medical treatment in UK, there are ongoing talks between the DoH in London, the CLEISS here in France and the Commission. After two years it still has not been sorted out to both my and New Europeans satisfaction. New Europeans have taken up this fight on behalf of all us retirees, as my former MEP, Sir Graham Watson who was helping me, lost his seat at the last European Elections.
Have you tried the English Helpline for whoever deals with your medical insurance?
