How long does it take to install a climatisation unit? I’m trying to decide if the cost of electricity is worth it. The fan does not keep the place cool enough
Most clima ‘units’ take between 2 and 6 hours to install. But there are far more factors to consider before you can decide whether or not it would be a worthwhile investment.
Depends on the type of clim Anne. Have you anything in mind?
We have air to air in 2 rooms which cool/heat the whole house and which took about what @_Brian said to install. The cost of extra electricity used is less than we used to pay for logs to burn, and they of course were not dual purpose.
By the way, @Anne24 , don’t be shy about introducing yourself and telling us a bit about yourself (if you like) and your connection to France.
One way is to create a topic (top left-hand of the screen) and add the appropriate category.
I have the same sort of air pump system and installing the box on the wall in the lounge took about and hour as the pipes/cables etc were already insitu from the two exterior fans outside the house. Also a hell of a lot cheaper than previous house with modern new convector radiators and a log burner but I also have a 3m wide patio window on the front of the house that gets the sun from midday until evening and that heats the house as well.
We had a split installation with one outside main unit and three indoor units installed in about 6 hours … with the obligatory 2 hour lunch break in between.
