Just a reminder that the clocks go BACK an hour next sunday morning 27th October.
“Spring forward, Fall back”.
Can you remind me a lot nearer the time please
If you can post your phone number here I’m sure lots of people will remind you with a phone call at 01h59 on the morning of the 27th
I’m looking forward to it, its been horrible driving to work in the dark the last couple of weeks!
It’s only 67 days until Christmas.
Crazy as the shops have xmas things alongside Halloween currently. I’m still wearing shorts and teeshirts, xmas is getting to be more antipodean now.
I believe that’s to enable the buying to be gently spread over the next weeks, rather than all of a rush… easier on the pocket.
Can’t buy edibles though, the dates expire long before xmas. Have to confess to having already sampled the usual Stollen and Panatonne from Lidl, too good to keep in the pantry and see every day. This week Lidl are doing their wooden toys again, they are extremely well made and not expensive and having bought the big train set two years ago am going to buy some add-ons like more track, bridges and other bits.
I didn’t have you down as a train set sort if girl @Shiba
Never wear anything different, all year.
Me neither, maybe a beanie hat when it gets frosty though
I love getting it all set up with my 4-year old grandson but he gets cross if I mess with his bits so have to let him have the final say. The Lidl one is exactly like the expensive Brio wooden sets from back in the 80’s but a fraction of the price and very well made. Now that reminds me I need to get some more batteries for the main engines
I spoke to mum earlier and their clocks went forward 2 weeks ago, which means a 3 weeks gap, very odd, usually same day or 2 weeks at the most. Confirms my suspicions its later than normal here this year!
Last Sunday in Oct and March here. 1st Sunday October and April in Oz - so quite a margin for change depending on calendar
Confused me every year - even more confusing living on the NSW/QLD borders and bouncing between states.
Yes, always seemed to me as being a nightmare for those living on the birder towns. I saw a documentary about it where busy households had 1 parent working in each state and kids in both as well. 2 clocks on the kitchen wall!
I must be mistaken in my memory of previous years then if that’s the dates . Maybe feeling it more as lits of early starts on my timetable this year so feeling the dark mornings!
Im now ahead of the game. I had to change a clock battery today. As it involved a step ladder I set it an hour behind. While i was in the mood and because I’ll be absent for most of the next week and a half I set another two clock an hour back too. Added to that my absence involves a change of time zone. Fun times ahead in the part of my brain that deals with time. Right, time for some lunch.
Enjoy your breakfast!
The reminder is exactly one week too early🤠Could you remind me again next week pls.
It improved - the larger towns adopted NSW time as default in terms of shops etc
