For anyone visiting Corsica there is a really interesting little museum in Zonza covering the WW2 resistance in Corsica.
Fascinating exhibits about the Corsican resistance and in particular I learnt a lot about how they held up the German elite forces retreating from North Africa back to Europe via Sardinia/Corsica and therefore helped the general Allied war effort.
Also just south of Bastia in Biguglia there is a German war cemetery - there was a very heavy battle there in Autumn 1943 during the German retreat. Quite moving seeing the young age of a lot of the dead.
