It must be a Charentaise thing… our maire speaks good English and we get on with him very well - chatting in a mix of English and (our) poor French which he tolerates.

Maybe the ideal solution would be to move house! Either to where Stella or Graham are seems perfect, I think I will start a thread for ‘Friendly Maries’
