I need to send some house keys to the UK and not sure of the safest option.
Any reliable recommendations please?

I’ve used Mondial Relay in France. They also operate to the UK. Might be worth considering.
I’ve used La Poste with Avis de Reception… to send all sorts of important documents (fair enough, not keys)… and have never had a problem… I’ve just tracked a package I sent and it was delivered 3rd December… phew… 
I have the proof and have followed its progress across France and then across UK…
Does Avis de Reception work in the UK?
You have to stipulate A de R Internationale… and sometimes I get the piece of paper back… and sometimes I don’t… but I can always follow the progress and can get proof of delivery via the computer if the UK Addressee tries to wriggle…

OK, worth remembering.
Ha ha… not got the “receipt” back yet… but did get a letter enclosing the cheque (which I had requested in my letter)… it arrived here today… so the service was swift both ways…
