I am on minister etranger site’s application of french nationality section, it asks for’‘casier judiciaire etrange de pay dont vous avez la nationalite.’’ is it a new rule? So I do not need to provide record from the countries I have lived in the past 10 years?
I don’t mean to be rude but if you are applying for French nationality then for most applicants a level of French language is required that would make what is required clear to you. Casier judiciare is straightforward as to what you are suppised to provide and tbe where from also seens clear.
So what is not cleat,?
Very odd, is there maybe another question further down? As far as I know the requirement is still to provide one for any countries you have lived in for more than 6 months during last 10 years.
Unless it!s different if you are applying by declaration? Are you?
Just checked national site for rules amd it’s the same as ever (tho’ doesn’t specify 6 months)
Si vous vivez en France depuis moins de 10 ans , extrait original de casier judiciaire étranger ou document équivalent. Il doit être délivré par une autorité compétente du ou des pays dans lesquels vous avez vécu, ou à défaut, du pays de votre nationalité.
As a mere observer - slightly intrigued because, admittedly long ago when I was applying for a S African Permanent Residence Visa, I encountered a similar requirement, but was told by my local UK police station that there wasn’t an equivalent UK document.
Is there one, now or am I thinking of something rather different?
Yes there is. One has choice between the £20 disclosure and baring service which is suitable for jobs not involving children, a more detailed version if children are involved, and then the £55 police check which is what one needs for immigration applications.
I didn’t say I don’t understand the french. I mean they used to ask for 10 years record.
Yes I read it too, I’m confused cause the meaning on these two sites are not really the same.
If you have not been in France continuously for last 10 years then you do need one according to every other source! Perhaps safest to get one/them? Otherwise risk your application being returned.
My son had to supply one and he had already lived in France since he was a small child and this was over five years ago now.
He has to submit records from the last ten years or record mores than 10years?
No, just the one submission when applied and now he has full french/english dual citizenship now with a french and UK passport and french ID card. Getting it all done took 4.5 years from start to finish and he is a fonc too! Once you are in the system thats it, everything is on the computer now for the authorities to check if they wish.
If he wasn’t living in France. So if he’s been in France 5 years then only needs to cover the 5 years before that.
