Crit'Air over and done with?

The Assembly have voted it “out”… Interesting to see how this actually works …

That’s what you think! If we remove the sticker, then where do you put it? Framed hanging in the toilet. The recycling bin but which one? Questions need to be answered

Sadly they self-destruct if you try to remove them, as my MOT bloke did, as documented at the top of “that thread”.

So not much chance of framing and hanging one over the mantelpiece for posterity.

Not having been able to obtain one for our ancient diesel Citroen, and thus denied the satisfaction of being able to remove it, I feel a bit ‘left out’ of the victory celebrations.

I’d be feeling a little sad to remove mine, and leaving a pristine window instead.

I have a virgin “3” mouldering in my 2010 Peugeot207 diesel cubbybox. I should have installed it months ago when we were making frequent trips to Nantes for late wife’s chemo, but, technically,it wasn’t needed on the ring road. Also, the purpose of travel should have exempted us,I think. So, there it is…

I was also kicking myself for having misinterpreted the rules when I bought the car. It was put on the road on 10 Jan 2011, I thought making it a 2. But it was eurospec 5, I think, which takes precedence over the date of service. I wanted something old enogh to escape the later PSA diesel problems such as the FAP and the stupid Adblue tank design. Looks like I eventually got lucky anyway.

Don’t chuck away your Crit’Air stickers just yet… I’ve just been reading that the

“The text must still be examined by the Constitutional Council (Les Sages), as several parliamentary groups have announced their intention to challenge the elimination of Low Emission Zones.”

I was pleased that my now elderly car is a “1” crit’air and the neighbour with a much newer posher flash car albeit not brand new (5 years old) is classed as 2. I shall wear it as a badge of honour LOL

I still have a UK tax disc of the very last month in which they were issued, before they were scrapped.I’ve heard they go well on EBay ..

Today’s Trivia Fact: people who collect tax discs are known as Velologists.

The name comes from combining “VEL” (Vehicle Excise Licence) with “-ology”.

Strange coincidence. On today’s BBC Breakfast programme there was a discussion about phones and their history. A clip of Maureen Lipman’s ology was included
