Not having been able to obtain one for our ancient diesel Citroen, and thus denied the satisfaction of being able to remove it, I feel a bit ‘left out’ of the victory celebrations.

I should have installed it months ago when we were making frequent trips to Nantes for late wife’s chemo, but, technically,it wasn’t needed on the ring road. Also, the purpose of travel should have exempted us,I think. So, there it is…
I was also kicking myself for having misinterpreted the rules when I bought the car. It was put on the road on 10 Jan 2011, I thought making it a 2. But it was eurospec 5, I think, which takes precedence over the date of service. I wanted something old enogh to escape the later PSA diesel problems such as the FAP and the stupid Adblue tank design. Looks like I eventually got lucky anyway.

I was pleased that my now elderly car is a “1” crit’air and the neighbour with a much newer posher flash car albeit not brand new (5 years old) is classed as 2. I shall wear it as a badge of honour LOL
