Current visa accommodatio requirements for UK applicants [not US]

Hello! Everything I’ve heard suggests the UK Visa office will only accept a rental agreement, attestation from friends or ownership documents to provide a visa, whilst other nations [such as US] can show an initial 90 days accommodation via AirBNB, etc.

Does anyone from the UK have recent experience to confirm this? I’m in France at the moment and suspect it is going to take much longer than I thought to find my first rented home

Thanks!

Hi.

I’m confused (but that’s not difficult). If you want to live in France, why are you looking at a UK visa?

I read it as the French visa office in the UK, as it seems that French consulates in each country have their own policies.

I don’t have experience myself as settled here, but I’ve not heard squeals of protest from British people and seen plenty asking about seasonal accommodation for visa application.

me too.. thought I’d gone barmy… perhaps we both have

Hello @DeejH and welcome to the forum.

Perhaps you could clarify your original post, as it is a bit confusing
Which office and in which country are you talking about ???

Cheers

Sorry for confusion :joy: yep…I meant the French visa office in the UK. I’ve heard repeatedly that they want to see proof of accommodation for a full year, not 90 days…but that other Anglophone countries are treated more leniently.
