What do you think of the Best Before… or Best Until… sort of dating…
I think best before dates should be removed completely from fresh fruit and veg as some supermarkets have done recently in the UK. It leads to so much waste of perfectly good produce. It’s quite obvious when fresh produce is past its best just by looking at it and feeling it.

In terms of fresh fruit and produce there needs to be a change. It is all picked too early supposedly so it will travel better. In effect this means it doesn’t have the opportunity to achieve anything near proper ripeness or flavour. This would explain why those lucky enough to be able to grow their own say its worth the backache and bother.
