To be frank, I’m not seeing you as the bullied party in any of your exchanges. You seem more to be the attacker rather than the attacked, to the extent that I wonder if you’re doing ok. I know that I can be quite feisty when my mental health isn’t at its best and I generally take that as a hint to take a break. Maybe something to think about.
Incidentally, OH has recently discovered the benefits of Dates… two a day seems about right and they’re best when stoned. ![]()
Dates certainly can be interesting when both are stoned. ![]()
Just thought, look and see if you have a local dance club or class or the like, I bet there are far more women there than men so it would be a good way to meet some, and fun anyway.
I’m not sure I could manage 2 dates in one day unless they were practically comatose. ![]()
He prefers his Dates early morning, around breakfast time, he reckons this sets him up for the day ![]()
Then I admire his stamina. ![]()
I think that’s a figbox of his own imagination. ![]()
Personally, I can enjoy Dates any time of day, (stoned are definitely better) but my Doctor says I mustn’t overdo things ![]()
perhaps we should let this thread return to its original direction… .now that things have quietened down a little… ![]()
Hi, I’m from West Yorkshire too and have a holiday home out in St Gilles du Mene 22330, where abouts are you?
When I finally get there, it’ll be near Ruffec 16700
French men are renowned to be misogynistic but this has been changing over the years. Though I have yet to find many that help their spouses around the house. Give it time to settle into the french life as its definitely very different from Yorkshire. I wish you well and hope you find happiness in france.
Everyone we know under 70 does! It’s only the old men who are unskilled. To me there is no excuse now for such old fashioned behaviour.
That itself is a misogynist expression - housework isn’t the XX person’s job, at least not nowadays.
The Spanish government had a very amusing campaign a few years ago to promote a bit of equal task-sharing, they showed a picture of eg a hoover or a loo+loo brush and said using these doesn’t cause erectile dysfunction.
using these doesn’t cause erectile dysfunction.
Might do if ironing starkers😬
It is obvious, however, that most English men do a great deal of housework, judging by the number of ladies with the leisure time to post on SF.
On the subject of housework, can I raise a question, from the perspective of a puzzled husband?
I clean most of the house, but my wife reserves the living room and kitchen for herself to clean. When she was ill recently with COVID, I took on that area as well, to spare her energy. I carried on doing so, even after her recovery. Recently my wife complained that I did too much of the cleaning/dusting/hoovering and I wasn’t leaving her with enough cleaning to do! Of course I stopped cleaning the living room etc, as requested.
Ladies - is this a common complaint from wives?

I can offer her as much cleaning as she likes here. ![]()
It’s always been called housework and still is by my friends and family. But everything is being renamed so not to offend nowadays.
As I’m not able to do all the household cleaning my husband hoovers and does the lifting of anything heavy. Though being older my husband wouldn’t be caught dusting or mopping floors. He would iron though, but I was fussy and ended up doing it myself.
Nowadays I need home help to do a lot of the cleaning.
The men in my french family who are younger do some cleaning but not voluntary and mostly avoid helping.
