Deliveries

Am I alone in being sick to death of DPD and GLS who seem incapable of delivering anything to my, not very rural, address. They’ve left some items at a Tabac 6 kilometres away, i don’t have a car. And DPD claim they delivered something that they clearly haven’t. I was in all day and in the garden when they said they delivered it. How can they keep doing this. I’m paying for delivery. I now have to send a form off with ID to get a refund.

Yer not alone, Colis prive used to be good but in the past two weeks they`ve gotten as bad as DPD (Don`t Parcel Deliver) and GLS (Got Lost Somewhere) After a few complaints the last parcel was delivered, they reckon it had been left in my mailbox when it had been dropped kicked up the drive. IF you`re not desperate for whatever it is they`ve dumped at a collection point, don`t collect it and it will be returned to the sender. The sender has to pay for the return and then they have to send a replacement to you or issue a refund. All this is extra work and cost for them and if they get enough returns they should start using another service. If we`re lucky that should result in the likes of GLS, etc upping their game. By collecting it for them you just encourage them to do it more often

It seems to go in phases and things will be fine for months, and then new delivery driver on the route and it all goes bad again. Generally we now choose to use a point relais as can coincide with other journeys, or give someone else the code to collect parcel.

It’s the lies I find objectionable. “ It was delivered to your address!!! “No it wasn’t . Why companies like Lidl continue to use these miscreants is a mystery.

Today I had two deliveries - one from UPS the other from GLS. Both came to the correct entrance, at the correct time and they were two very polite delivery men.

It doesn’t always happen like that. I have had some occasions when they said no one was at home when I could see the delivery man from the front room window - he just drove off!

On the whole though, these multi-drop drivers are good. But you do get the odd one or two that are really not up to standard.

I groan when I see its GLS or DPD, I just know they’ll say, “ couldn’t find address “, “ no one home” or “ delivered”. They do occasionally make it, but I suspect with the price of petrol rocketing delivering to rural areas might get quite pricey. Though I did actually pay for delivery.
