Hello Badger
I am in the process of having electricity connected to my property in Gers. The departmental energy body laid an underground cable from the nearest pole with a transformer to a comfret on the corner of my house. This cost ¢28k of witch i paid 14 and the commune paid the rest. A contracter wired up the house and got Conseul certificate. I applied to Enedis for a Raccordement and Comptage and elected to have the meters next to the comfret. The distance from the comfet to the fuse panel inside the house is 8m. I recieved a devis for €1590 from Enedis. I think Enedis want to instal the meter inside.
My contractor has done all the cables from the comfret to the fuse panel and the only thing Enedis has to do is install the linky meter and disjuncteur . I am looking for some document about my right to choose an outside meter . Unfortunately the link you provided is dead.
Ouch! I suspect that was for an “extension de réseau”…?
I suspect at this stage that coffret is just the one that houses the main supply fuses. If the Linky is going outside then there will be another coffret attached to the back or side.
The cost seems steep but looks to me like their standard fee for providing a new “branchement définitif”.
That would be the case, as the distance is minimal.
ENEDIS will have looked at the situation &, unless you said at the time, will have quoted to create a Type 1 (meter inside) installation. They will, rightly, have assumed that as there is no physical reason not to have the Linky inside it is what is best. After all, it’s far more convenient to have access to the compteur & main disjoncteur without having to leave the building.
Is there any particular reason that you want the meter outside? As the Linky can be remotely read there’s no benefit to leave it outside.
That aside, if you ask ENEDIS for a new devis, this time for a Type 2 installation, I don’t think they would insist either way. Of course, there may be some physical reason they don’t want the meter to be where their new coffret is, but I can’t tell from here.
I just looked back through the thread but can’t find a duff link anywhere.
Is this of any use?
Badgerthanks
Thanks for prompt reply.
You put the link near the end of your explanation on of type 1 and type 2 instalations (In reply to per8ped dec 2022 4/23). Yes the EDF box only contains their fuses. Do you think the Enedis devis includes laying cables from this box to next to my panel 8 meters away? Or is 16k the going rate? Will they give me an itemised devis if i sdk nicely? Cheers and thanks
Yes, if they are quoting for a Type 1 installation.
Umm…for what? You previously said you had a devis for 1590€, which I’ve assumed to be for your branchement définitif, & that was on top of the staggering 28K€ for the extension de réseau.
As you already have a devis, then it should outline what works they are carrying out (& it will say which type of installation it’s for). It will also outline any works that are your responsibility.
Sorry Badger, its €1590. Any chance i could email it to you?
