As indicated up the topic, I’m accessing SF through Ghostery Browser on my phone and the icon on my android home screen has not changed. Using Android v9 under OxygenOS v9.0.6 on OnePlus A3003

Google Pixel 3 running Android 12 on standard Google launcher.
That’s truly bizarre.
Try clearing the cache for the browser/app - or did you already do that?
Let us know what happens when it completely disappears - if you can…
can you regenerate it on your home screen?
I am sure you will all be delighted that The Big Boy is back:
But for how long…
I deleted it from the homescreen then whilst browsing SF within Chrome under the menu there was the option to “Install App” - now back on homescreen.
The suggestion that this is an App I think is misleading as it is clearly not - but also not the same as shortcut on homescreen.
