hi! thank you (: i was wondering about health rights in paris. will i get financical help with caregiver?
with mobility devices? with medical treatments?..

Hello. Which country are you from?

Everything here is means tested and many hoops to go through for foreigners who demand help, never assume its automatic or transferrable from where you live now!

Perhaps the first thing to check is whether any rights to assistance that you may currently have in the country where you live, would be transferrable if you move to France.

IThen, if you need a visa, then depending which type of visa you apply for you may need to show proof of full private health insurance as part of your application . This might be hard to obtain.

A lot will depend on your nationality, as much easier if you are european. If you are third country I have no idea what visa one could get for one’s carer.

If you are British, some benefits can be exported with you - but not mobility payments

The whole approach in France is very different, in general you have to have your handicap assessed (yes here it is still handicapped not disabled) and will be given a (for example) 80% card which gives access to all sorts of things. Your general doctor, and the local aide sociale should help navigate through the system. These links are a starting point.
