Don’t know what’s happened for you Angela. I can still see (1) and Part 2 has opened up automatically. I’ve just posted to it.
Yes but it’s empty! You’re the only one there… When it closed, everything disappeared which is why I was hoping @billybutcher could reinstate the contents.
But that’s because it’s starting a new thread,
Part 1 is full - no more than 10,000 replies and so I’m posting in the new thread Part 2, which starts at one again.
“Any cheerful news” is the same. It reached 10,000 and a new thread automatically opened (part 2)
The contents is still there under part 1 - maybe it happened literally while you were reading/posting so it seemed like it disappeared - it hasn’t. ![]()
We have:
and
Oh, and this one, the title of which I’ve changed a little.
I’m now really confused! I thought the thread we have all been posting to up until now was already Part 2, which is why I started part 3. Am I losing the plot? (Perhaps best not to answer that… )
It seems discourse has a limit of 10,000 posts in a thread.
Part 2 is the current thread so use that.
Starting “Part 3” was a bit premature and would only have confused things methinks - we’d have ended up with people using Part 2 and Part 3 in parallel..
You are, of course, quite right! When discourse told me that the thread was closed because of reaching 10000 posts, I never imagined it would start a new one itself, which is why I did. I most definitely have lost the plot, sadly!
