Thanks Angela and @JohnH

I only noticed the “member weekly” when I looked earlier - now wading my way through the 83. I’ll come back to it tomorrow.

It’s, umm, annoying.

Got there in the end

But I really must give this up.

Just gone back to yesterday’s as I only got 4 bonus words. Just randomly selecting letters I’ve just found “eide, gleg, pelf, gree and gude”. Really?

Lots of guid or gude Scots words in there! I grew up playing Scrabble with Chambers to hand which is fantastic for Scots and exotic words as well as archaic. Gleg is clever or quick mentally. Pelf is riches when you want to be mean about the rich person. If you’re gleg you’re quite likely to be well-pelfed. Gree is inclining to something, after all there’s still agree and degree :slightly_smiling_face: no idea about eide and I’m too idle to check. Maybe a variant spelling of ‘eid or poss something to do with pus in middle English because of Eiter?

@Mark I didn’t realise for ages that English as spoken in Scotland has a considerable admixture of Scots words not used (or known) south of the border and as I don’t have a Scottish accent I probably sounded loopy to English ears.

English isn’t spoken north of the border, it’s Jockanese.

It’s no less annoying, and I am no less annoyed at myself for playing again.

Well I didn’t add the last word to make it a proper Glasgow response, does that count as good natured?

But, no, it was a proper toys out of the pram so I’ll delete it.

Today is a bit odd. To try to be obtuse and not spoil it. I don’t get why five and six are fine but seven isn’t.

Seven works fine for me (as a bonus word)

Well, yes, but why not a real word?

I often wonder that.
