Does a good credit score from U.S. count when trying to get a loan in FR?

My husband, (who is French), and I, (American), might have finally found a 'fixer-upper' in his home town. Problem is that we would have to get a loan for the remaining €35-40K that remains after putting about 60% down. We could get a family member to co-sign the loan, but we would prefer to secure it ourselves without the help of a 2nd party. My husband hasn't worked in France for over 33 years, and neither of us have built up no credit there. We have a very good credit score in the U.S., no outstanding debt there, and a salon for hair, (which we have not had appraised yet), to use as collatteral. Does anyone know anything that would be helpful to our situation? Thank You in advance.
