Does Elon Musk set a good example...?

I normally think he’s a bit of a chump, but I like his sense of humour.

I’m beginning to learn more about him, starting here…

I know Musk is a tosspot, to put it mildly, but the rocket was never really expected to be a success. NASA has a way of designing rockets that can not allow any failures. That’s why it’s taken 11 years and cost about $24 billion to develop to it’s first launch. And that’s with parts of it being inherited from previous rockets. With Spacex, they do it differently and test stuff early to gain data and expect failure. That’s what they did with the Falcon 9, which is now incredibly successful. Musk now having little involvement in Spacex has been a very good thing for the company. It’s now run by very competent and professional people.

Musk is a liability, not merely a tosspot but the tosspot’s tosspot.

He’s also well on the way to proving the adage that the quickest way to a small fortune is to start with a large one.

Here’s a (very long) Twitter thread documenting his tosspottery.

I downloaded Jimmy Kimmel’s show and selected this clip. I think Jimmy Kimmel got it right…

ā€œAnd then we have Captain Yerk-off Star-Link himself, Elon Musk, who yukked it up with fellow vomit-troll Tucker Carlsonā€

ā€œHilarious! Just two sociopaths laughing it off about who’s worthy of being assassinated or not!ā€

I have no problem with him until he gets silly. But he’s unusual and clever. And he responded to the hurricane Helene devastation has been to donate and set up starlink terminals so the remote people can at least have some communications amid all the devastation.

Couldn’t being silly be dangerous when it’s combined with his wealth and influence, the company he keeps and the things he says? Words and deeds matter in politics don’t they.

Why is he getting involved with Trump anyway? What does he want from a Trump presidency I wonder.

I said earlier in this topic that he should stick to engineering.

He doesn’t even do that particularly well

Maybe Musk wants to get into politics – my theory. I doubt if he could run, but perhaps he could get invited in. Didn’t work however with Obama, Clinton or Biden, so maybe this time round with Trump.

As a South African he could run a state but not for President?

Musk can’t run for POTUS as he wasn’t born in the USA.

His cars are junk, but he seems to be putting NASA to shame at the moment without it costing the US taxpayer a penny.

Austistic you mean? He has Asperger’s Syndrome.

Thats a hell of a lot of junk out there running millions of vehicles other manufacturers would love to have.

FIAT and British Leyland sold tens of millions of cars in their history and most were junk.

Cant argue with that, but not being an Elon fan, I would rather drive one of his than one of those! Although I did own a lot of minis before swapping to Toyota.

I know.

A search warrant with legal probable cause was sent to Twitter regarding Trump’s Twitter account and alleged criminal conduct. As owner of Twitter, Musk refused it, appealed it to the Supreme Court and lost.

Did Asperger’s Syndrome account for Musk’s refusal, or his ownership of Twitter and his political affiliation to Trump?
