And nothing would please me more this time next year, but he is getting on for a big dog but does break into a bit of a run now and then, but who knows?
Sardines with tomato sauce or virgin olive oil with their croquettes each evening and stale bread or pain grille afterwards to clean their teeth. Jules of course being a Beauceron X has a heavy furry coat but Dobermann (plus Greyhound ) Hades is gleamingly glossy, the wee fishes should maintain that look I reckon.
Weāve always given Ruby toast with her 6pm meal. I make an extra slice in the morning and cut it up ready for her. If I ever want her to come in, all I have to do is call āRuby - TOASTā and sheās in like a shot! I donāt give her fish regularly but whenever we have cod or smoked haddock I always take the skin off and give it to her as a treat. Which reminds me - Iāve had two tins of sardines in the fridge for a couple of years, not knowing what to do with them. Perhaps Iāll give them to Ruby !
Today is November the 5th, an important date for many, but to us it was the day, in 1999, when our beloved first dog in France, Lira the Greyhound, came to live with us.
This was her, attached because we had no fencing at that point, surveying her new territory:
Our Ruby is just as bad. Yesterday at around 6pm I was making up the cat food bowls and had them on top of the (chest) freezer ready to add kibble as a ācrunchā when the doorbell rang. I went to the door and was talking to my neighbour for several minutes. When I got back in the kitchen, Ruby had reached up to the cat bowls and helped herself to their food. I couldnāt scold her because it was after the event but itās not the first time sheās done that (with some sausages once that I had out to defrost). She still ate all her supper! Iāve previously posted a photo of Ruby where she looks like butter wouldnāt melt in her mouth. That was the look she gave me when I got back in the kitchen. The little darling (notā¦..)
Nice idea, but I think I would have preferred a more realistic statue. Very pleased he went on to a ripe old age though, must have been at least 10 I would have thought.
