Dog photos only

So do I, only mentioned to Eddie today, if I have any more dogs they are going to be very big and very furry.

We once had a guest St. Bernard for a fortnight, he was so warm and cuddly, only problem was he chose as his sleeping place the only entrance between the old and new parts of our house. If Fran and I were in different parts we had to call across the divide to each other. Wouldn’t bother me now though, I would simply train him to move on the command ‘move’. :joy:

I had supper yesterday in a restaurant and at the next table were a very well behaved black Briard and an equally good Borzoi, both beautiful and friendly in a somewhat distant way. They had people with them but I noticed 0 about them.

That would be my reaction.

Have you noticed on dog walks people know the names of the dogs but not the owners.

Having read the story, it reminds me that in 2024 our friend Philip passed away. He and his wife Barbara had returned to the UK in 2021 after living in France for about 20 years. Philip used to come to the lake with Izzy, their dog who died a couple of weeks after Philip. His wish was to be buried at our lake and Barbara came over with his ashes and those of Izzy and we buried them in what we now call ‘Philip’s spot’ - his favourite fishing area.

Philip with his granddaughter fishing at our lake.

Izzy relaxing at home. (I can’t find one of her with Philip at the lake)

Izzy looks sweet. I should think she needed a fair bit of tidying up after the lake.

Yes, she did. Philip used to bring her grooming kit with him because he knew Barbara would be rather cross if she’d gone home in such a dirty condition.

Her and Annie, our late fox terrier used to have such fun together chasing ‘le ragondin’. I’ll do a search on the PC as I know I’ve got some photos of Annie after she’s been in the water chasing the ragondin. She’s so muddy that she’s unrecognisable as ‘our Annie’. :dog:

That’s lovely!

I’ll let you know.

A cautionary warning to dog walkers. Processionary caterpillars are on the march today in my area (SW)

Thank you, I’ll be especially careful in the forest as Jules has his nose to the ground constantly.

Yes, I had the dogs off lead and went past two columns without noticing. It was only when I returned that I spotted them and kept the dogs away.
