Dog photos only

I am hoping that he can be converted, if necessary, to a fish diet. Jules gets a tin of sardines or tuna every day except when he shares a large chunk of cod with me. I love it but it is no fun on hands and knees with him. Not really obviously, but I don’t expect him to sit at table with me. One vital thing is that he is willing, like all previous dogs, to eat side by side without rancour.

It is not a routine, just now and again, and Jules only does it because, quite at ease himself with storms, he thinks I am frightened by them and does it to comfort me. Raffy, on the other hand, is reported to be fearful of them, so it remains to be seen if he will come to me, or be soothed by Jules’ presence. I might miss out, but on the other hand, I might get both of them.

I wonder how much emperor sized beds are on Amazon.

If you save all his fur from his grooming sessions, perhaps you can get @toryroo or @vero to crochet you a blanket. That should keep you nice and warm this winter.

Seriously though David, he looks a kind, friendly dog and I’m sure the three of you will get on famously. :pink_heart:

Aye, well, ummm (with apologies to that Irish actor in I Didn’t Know You Cared) from long, long, ago.

Steven Rea. Everything comes to those who wait but can’t remember.

Think of the smell when it’s damp!! I know someone who knitted shooting weskits with her deerhounds’ wool and the smell was quite pervasive. Not bad, but very much there.

Not if it’s prepared properly. I have a scarf made from my Isi’s fur as he also had a double coat that you can spin. I actually hoped it would smell of him as he had a nice biscuity smell, but it doesn’t

Oh well I’m out then, if I can’t smell like a dog, then I’m not interested.

The damp weskits were overwhelming, in another dimension - bear in mind that chez my granny I grew up in a house where if you’re cold in the night just add another dog to your bed, you have at least one dog and cat to keep you cosy on any given sofa or chair or hearth rug, and under the table at mealtimes for cosy feet - probably never more than a foot away from assorted deerhound/ lab/ spaniel/ mastiff/ whoever, so smelling of dog (cat, horse) was normal.

We used to look after a large pack(25) of assorted dogs for our Dutch friend from Dachsunds to Wolfhounds and included several Deerhounds (Levrier Ecosse). Wonderful slim but massive dogs who used to gallop up from behind me like horses and then either swerve at the last minute or slow right down with their heads tucked underneath my armpits.
