Doris Lessing

Doris Lessing has just died this weekend. She was 94, had had a very varied and interesting life. Her Golden Notebook, The Grass is Singing, Children of Violence, The Good Terrorist and her other titles were usually different, one from the other, thus making her a unique author and truly justifiable Nobel Prize winner in 2007 when she was 88.

She has always been an author I can read and read again. However old and whatever a 'good innings' she might have had, sad to see her go.

I'm in complete agreement, Brian.

I agree Brian, 'tis sad. I owe her a lot actually, she was my first encounter with a powwerful modern woman author I read...it was enlightening, and gratifying to discover a women like her, and of course, all her friends too!
