My pc is set up with a dual boot loader so on.the very rare occassion I need windows, I can select it. However when I do this microsoft always overwrites the boot loader to windows so I have to F10 back into the bios and reset the boot order.
I ran VM Fusion back when I was paid to use Macs (and all SW was paid for) and being to move files across the two OS’ was incredibly useful.
As per Windows 7, I will only quit W10 when Steam stops supporting it.
Which boot loader?
Ubuntu?
Ok so I assume it’s grub, in which case I can’t see windows resetting it. Have you got it set up so the default is “boot last OS”?
No I haven’t to my knowledge but will go and check shortly, thanks for the tip.
Abd there’s me looking at the title thinking its something to make putting stuff in the back of your car easier ![]()
Yes grub, couldn’t see that setting but have set it load boot block so at least hopefully I can jump in and select. Will test later.
Look for
GRUB_DEFAULT=saved
GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true
in /etc/default/grub
I was more excited when reading the title because I misunderstood and was thinking there was something to help my dog Jules who is surrendering a bit to age and hesitating before attempting entry to the car. ![]()
