if your velux can swivel round so you can get to the outer pane stick some card board on it. Now what sort of window are you going to come up with next?

No. It’s driven from mains water and we have very soft water being on granite.

So when you’re sitting under it, do you or the furniture get wet at all? Some of the photos online look as if the spray is a lot heavier than drizzle, but maybe they’re trying to make a point.
Ours is a fine mist and doesn’t wet surfaces, but it’s only used when it’s really hot. It does need the pressure adjusting a bit to get it right and I think if you had it on permanently it could very well wet surfaces. We have ours 2 mins on then 5 off repeated.
I have a porta-split aircon, which is brilliant. No blowing of hot air, anywhere.

Must confess there are loads of appliances being advertised all over the place… each one reckons it is “the real thing” and will cool a room “just like that” without any pipes/fixings refrigerant etc.. just take it out of its box, plug it in and switch it on…

OK got it. This is what threw me. Yes it does blow hot air on the other side of your window.

Yes, that’s going to be the real deal because the inside heat exchanger (hot in, cold out) and the outside heat exchanged (cold in hot out) are completely separate.
Pity it seems to be unobtanium.
Unlike a/cs with ducting, there is a link to an outside unit, so it doesn’t suck warm air out, but transfers it via fluid to the external unit, which dissipates the heat. it’s clever, and efficient, and works for me!

Some people in this thread are so sure of their “facts” when they actually aren’t true that it makes me cringe. As to the actual question - I have no answer as no experience, I’m afraid
It appears in Adverts down the side of the computer screen when reading the Press and all sorts of other things… drives me mad. They’re all slightly different, yet each claims to be invented by this Frenchman and blah blah blah…
