Nice man. One of our previous elderly british friends knew him from being chief engineer or something for his F1 team and when he died, sent a huge wreath for his funeral in our village church.
He gave Michael Schumacher his debut drive in F1.
Great guy. He had motor sport in his blood.
RIP
Sad news…
RIP
Very sad. He had an aggressive form of prostate cancer apparently.
He was a lovely guy !
we used to install his Christmas tree lighting at his house on Wentworth estate.
always gave us a good tip and lots of hot drinks.
very kind.
It looks like it was picked up very late. It’s a bit of a silent killer until it really isn’t.
Sad news indeed.
I attended a TVR Tuscan Challenge race at Silverstone. As often at Silverstone there was a freezing wind blowing, although it was June.
I was so cold I decided I had to buy a coat. Jordan GP, based at the circuit, had a tent selling merch. I bought a bright yellow padded Jordan GP coat. £50, as I remember.
Of course, I’d always intended to get EJ to autograph it.
Too late now.
I remember on one of the TV F1 progs they were all nattering away. EJ, to make a point, dropped to the ground and proceeded to do press-ups at a remarkable rate "See! 61 years old … "
RIP a Great Man will be a big loss to the sport
