The problem’s the men. They should never have been given the right to vote.

I also cannot understand, but susceptible people can sadly get drawn in.

And you believe he actually placed that bet? He’s a two-faced toad who courts publicity with no substance behind him so I guess it was just a stunt.

Nice image - tribute to Ruby Bridges:

Possible - probably in fact; but bet actually placed or not the embarrassment value is about the same given that Farage publically shared this image on polling day.

There’s something a bit disturbing about that image, can"t quite articulate what it is but even tho’ a strong image the undertone makes me feel uneasy

You can see it from multiple angles:
The inner child?
From child to adult?
From adult to child?

I see a girl who has now become the first female vice President.

The shadow is from Norman Rockwell’s painting of Ruby Bridges - the first black pupil at the William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans in 1960 - for her own safety being escorted into school by U.S. marshals. The idea I think is that the bravery of one unknown little girl ultimately made the election of the first black woman vice president possible.

Ah that’s it! Trace memory as I dislike Norman Rockwell’s work.

@SuePJ Sadly Sue, the answer to your question is “Yes they can”.

Roll on 2024, Kamala Harris v Ivanka Trump… the morons will still be there

I think the jury is still out on Harris, she won’t be a ‘shoe-in’ for the nomination in four years time so will have to work hard to show she’s the right person to lead the US.

Interesting analysis in an article from 28th October - and so it came to pass -

@graham Well that made cheerful reading Graham!

Let’s hope those around him begin to desert him in droves, that the media cuts him off, that those he commands refuse to act for him. He is, after all yesterday’s man and all of those around him are intensely self-serving and interested in their own political and economic futures. It is unlikely they will see their futures with him. Will they want to be in the wilderness for 4 years waiting on perhaps another shot at the White House? There will be huge amounts of money to be made from speaking / books and talking about “how I survived the Trump years” - why stay loyal?

Hopefully, with an eroding power base he will be totally isolated and unable to act to any significant degree.

I’m not sure how the transition period from one Presidency to another actually works (others will know for sure) but how can the President Elect prevent the outgoing from doing further harm to the US in last acts of defiance?

Not easily, as a lot is left to tradition and gentlemen’s agreements rather than law.

Trump paid no attention to this in pushing through nomination of Amy ConeyBarratt a week before the election, which is not normally done.

My interpretation, which of course may be wrong, is that she will be an inspiration for many young girls (of all colours and creeds) who will aspire to follow in her footsteps.
