Just received my annual official Engie facture online and to warn people they are automatically increasing monthly payments to take into account the price rises from lst February. My monthly payment has increased by over €30 so users with higher bills will be paying more and may not realise it until it comes out each month. I never paid by prélévément until I moved but now prefer it as at least it is being paid and they owe me a nice refund for this past year which arrives in 12 days in my account. We all knew increases were coming this week so this may remind people to be more frugal and not waste power by leaving things on they are not using. If I could have afforded it, I would have had panels fitted when the house was built, but that is out of my reach now so maybe thats an alternative for more people who are struggling on pensions
Ah…this perhaps links in somehow with a strange phone call I received yesterday…
The caller simply informed me that I would not be subject to the 10% increase … I replied “thank you” and he hung up.
I wait to see just what increase I shall be being charged… hoping it will be below and not above 10%
I prefer to keep my money to myself, not lend it to some energy company, and pay the bill the day it arrives every 2 months. I check my meter every Sunday so I always know what to expect.
I was like that previously but had no choice this time as am with another supplier. However I paid the barest minimum monthly and came under that payment as its easy to do with Linky now and see the consommation on line andhow much I had used, so knew I would be OK when the big invoice arrived today and they do pay back very quickly and I no longer have the headache of putting money aside like I did previously. My posting was to make folks aware of their monthly prélévéments being increased without their knowledge or consent based on usage in 2023 and perhaps they can make economies to counteract. I have found using the eco programmes on my machines has contributed greatly to my bills even if they do take hours to run but at less cost.
I heard it was going to be about 8.2% something to do with Macron holding back on collecting tax during the bad bit of covid.
Just had another email earlier from Engie refunding me a lot of money in a few days time on top of the other refund. I did cut the HC/HP system out as it was not worth it for me so perhaps that is the answer as they said it would be cheaper in the long run.
