There have been some earlier discussions - mainly about how it does not exist in France. Maybe things have changed or someone has found a way to do it. I have investigated the viager system but this is a complete rip-off. Has anyone managed to get cash from their equity?

Worked for Jeanne Calment, who at the age of 90, sold her house to someone half her age and outlived him.
But it is important to understand that French houses are not necessarily a good long term investment, as anyone selling up and returning to the UK will tell you. French people prefer new builds and there are financial advantages for them in doing so.
